Drew Beckmann
Chief Operating Officer

Drew started with SPSET  in December of 2016.  He has a bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University where he  Minored in Business and Majored in the Recording Industry. Drew has managerial experience in the restaurant industry. He is learning all aspects of the business starting at the front desk and becoming an integral part of the Management Team.  Drew's hometown is Townsend, TN

Nancy Flemming
Bookkeeper

Nancy started with SPSET  in July of 2014.  She serves as our bookkeeper and supports our billing department. She has an associates in accounting from Waynesboro Business College. Nancy lived in Florida for many years before coming to East Tennessee in 2012

Sarah Johnson         Posting/Collection Specialist

Sarah started with SPSET December of 2016 . She has completed courses in Business at Champlain College and Accounting at Johnson State College . Sarah comes with 8 years of experience in a medical setting. She moved here from Vermont and has happily settled in Maryville with her husband and children.

Karen Morton
HR Director

Karen has been with SPSET since September of 2001 . She holds several certifications in Human Resources training and professional development. Karen also has experience in Brain Gym and an education in Early Childhood Development with Walter State Community College. Born in South Carolina, and then traveling with a military family for 15 years, Karen eventually settled in Louisiana in 1975 before moving to Tennessee in 1992.

 

 Sandy Smith, Audit Clerk 

Sandy has been with SPSET since April 2014.  Sandy attended Western Connecticut State University and is certified in Medical Billing and Coding. She has lived on the East & West Coasts, West Virginia and on the Gulf Coast. She and her husband find East TN to be one of the nicest places they have been. Sandy and her husband currently live in Greenback TN with 2 golden retrievers and 3 cats.

Kim Sparkman, B.A., SLPA
Team Leader, Quality Director

Kim started working as an SLPA with SPSET immediately following graduation in December of 2006 and became a Team Leader in Blount County the following August 2007. She was promoted to Quality Director in August of 2010. She  serves as Coordinator of the Team Leaders.  Kim graduated with a B.S. degree in Audiology and Speech Pathology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in December of 2006. 

Christina "Christi" Wallace
Patient Coordinator

Christi started with SPSET September of 2015. She has previous experience in customer service, as a patient services representative, administrative assistant and merchandising specialist.Christi attended Sinclair Community College where she studied clinical nutrition and fitness. Her hometown is Panama City, Florida.  She enjoys family life in Maryville with her husband and son.

Physical and OccupationalTherapists

Nancy Dunning, Physical Therapist

Nancy came to work for SPSET in August of 2015 and serves children in the Loudon County School System. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy.  Nancy has provided pediatric and school based physical therapy services for thirty-eight years. She is married and has three grown children.

            Teresa Schwartz,                            Physical Therapy Assistant             

Teresa came to work for SPSET in August of 2015 and serves in the Loudon County System. Teresa has 23 years of experience in pediatrics. She received an Associates of Science in Physical Therapy from Roane State Community College in 1998. Lenoir City is her hometown.     

    Shonda Brinkley,    Occupational Therapist

Shonda came to work for SPSET in August of 2015 and serves in the Loudon County School System. She has experience withpediatrics in a hospital, school setting and early intervention. She received a  Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy  from Northeastern Louisiana University in 1998. She is married and has two sons.  

    Rosemarie Mexted,    Occupational Therapist

Rosemarie came to work for SPSET in August of 2016 and serves in the Lenoir City and Loudon County School Systems. While she has worked with the geriatric population for 11 years she is excited to begin a new career working with the pediatric population.  She received a  B.S. Degree in Occupational Therapy  from Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand.   She is from New Zealand  and has lived in the United States for 15 years, 9 in Knoxville, TN.

           Kristin Connell                Occupational Therapy Assistant

Kristin came to work for SPSET in September of 2015 and serves in the Loudon County School System.  
She graduated from Wallace State Community College with an Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2006. Huntsville, AL is her hometown.  She has experience in many settings and believes she is doing the work she was made for, treating  the pediatric population. She has a 3yr. old sonand an 11 yr old step son, "they are my world" 

               Marc Cusick                    Occupational Therapy Assistant

Marc came to work for SPSET in August of 2015 and serves in the Loudon County School System. He has 15
 years of experience in pediatrics. He received an Associates of Science in Occupational Therapy from Roane State Community College. Lenoir City is his hometown.  

             Marla Feazell                   Occupational Therapy Assistant

Marla came to work for SPSET in August of 2015 and serves in the Lenoir City School System.
 She received a Certificate as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from Nashville State Technical Institute in 1979.  She has  38 years of experience as a COTA, with 30 of those being in a school setting.

Speech Language Pathologists

 

 Ann Bird M.A., CCC-SLP

Ann came to work for SPSET in September of 2010 after retiring from the School System. She serves as an SLP in Blount County. She retired in May of 2016 but will continue to provide services on a PRN basis.  

She received her B.S. degree from the University of Chattanooga in Speech and Hearing in May 1964 and her M.A. degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in December 1984. She retired from the Knox County, TN School System after 25 years of service where she held positions as a Speech-Language Pathologist and as an Assistant Technology Specialist which was a system-wide position.

 

 Anna Bradley, M.A.,  CCC-SLP

Anna joined SPSET in January 2013 and serves as an SLP in Sevier County. She graduated from East Tennessee State University summa cum laude in 2006 with a B.S. degree in Human Development and Learning and a minor in Communicative Disorders. She worked as an SLPA with SPSET from December 2006 until graduate school started in August 2007. She received her M.A. degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2009. She has also worked in the nursing home/long term care setting.

 

Britney Buttrey, M.S., CCC-SLP

Britney started with SPSET in January of 2014. She serves as an SLP in Loudon County.

Britney grew up in Caledonia, Mississippi and graduated from the Mississippi University for Women of Columbus, MS with Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.  She came to us with 5 years of experience working as a licensed SLP in various settings. Britney enjoys building close relationships with others in order to help them communicate in any and every way. Britney is married with two daughters and lives in Maryville, TN.

 

 Katherine "Katie" Copeland, M.S., CCC-SLP

Katie has worked for SPSET since February of 2009 and currently serves as an SLP in Alcoa City.

Katie graduated from the University of South Florida with a B.S. degree in Communication Disorders in 2004 and an M.S. degree in 2006. Her passions are early intervention, language development and pediatric feeding disorders.

 

 Sherri Graves, M.A., CCC-SLP 

Sherri came to work for SPSET in April of 2012 after relocating to East TN from Memphis, TN. She currently serves as SLP in Sevier County.She received a B.A. and M.A. in Speech Pathology from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. She has 33 years of experience including public and private school therapy; home health and hospital; work with the hearing impaired; and private practice in Louisiana and Tennessee.Her passions are language-learning disorders to include auditory processing disorders and dyslexia, and parent-teacher training.

         Jillian "Jill" Hazelbaker             M.S., CCC-SLP

Jill has worked for SPSET since September of 2016 and currently serves as an SLP in Sevier County.  She came to us with 7 years of pediatric experience

Jill graduated from the University of Memphis with a in Speech Pathology in 2009. 

 Karen Helton, M.S., CCC-SLP

Karen has worked for SPSET since August of 2016 and currently serves as an SLP in Blount County.  She came to us with 15 years of pediatric experience.

Karen graduated from Central Missouri State University with a M.S. degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology in 1998.

          Kaylee Hershberger            M.S.,CCC-SLP 

Kaylee joined the SPSET team in April of 2016 to finish her CF which was approved . She is providing services in Blount County 

She is from Elkhart, Indiana and completed her Master of Arts at Ball State University.  She is passionate about the birth to three population along with feeding which she experienced during her externship at E. TN Children's Hospital  

 

Elizabeth Hill, M.S., CCC-SLP 

Elizabeth started with SPSET in August of 2012 as a CF and is now certified and serves on a team in Blount County.

Originally from Indiana, Elizabeth came to us from Johnson City, TN where she graduated from ETSU with a M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology

 

Debra Howe, M.ED,   CCC-SLP

Debra joined SPSET August 2010 and serves as an SLP Blount County. She received her B.A in Psychology from the University of Florida in 1987 and her M. Ed in Communication Disorders from Florida Atlantic University in 1993. Debra spent her early years working in a rehabilitation hospital providing speech therapy to stroke and brain injury patients. She later found her new passion working with children after she had two children of her own.  Her interests are in articulation, phonology, language development and autism. 

 Kaelen Murnane, M.S., CCC-SLP

Kaelen began working with SPSET August 2016 and currently serves as an SLP in Sevier County. She received her B.S in Psychology at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and her M.S. in Communications Disorders from East Tennessee State University.

She came to us with 2 years experience in a school setting, she enjoys working in the areas of articulation, phonology, language development and social cognition.  She lives in Knoxville and enjoys the outdoors and traveling in her spare time. 

 

 Rebecca "Becky" Rowland, M.S., CCC-SLP

Becky began working with SPSET September 2013 and currently serves as an SLP in Sevier County.She received her B.A in Speech Pathology and Audiology at UT of Knoxville and her M.S. in Communications Disorders from Marshall University.

Becky has experience with children of all ages in hospital, home health and clinical settings. She also has experience with children that have autism and enjoys working with them.

 

 Janna Werner, M.A.,  CCC-SLP

Janna has been with SPSET since 2009 and serves as an SLP in Blount County. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Transylvania University in 1991 Magna Cum Laude. She received her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee in 1997.  Janna received several honor awards such as the Dean’s Academic Scholarship, Speech Pathology Honors Award, ASHA Leadership Award, and more.

Rebecca Wyssmann, M.S., CCC-SLP

Becca started with SPSET in January of 2015 as a CF-SLP and received her Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA December 2015.  She serves on a team in Sevier County. Becca's hometown is Kingsport, TN.  She has a B.A. in Spanish and M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from UT Knoxville.  She is passionate about literacy, ESL, TBI and dysphagia.

Caitlin Adkins, B.S., SLPA 
Team Leader

Caitlin began working with SPSET April 2015 and currently serves as an SLPA and Team Leader in Sevier County. She received her B.S. Degree May 2014 from the University of Tennessee,  in Communication Disorders and Science.  She enjoys the interaction with children as they grow closer to achieving their speech -language goals.

 

Ravan Allen, B.S., SLPA

Ravan came to work for SPSET in November of 2012 and serves as an SLPA in Loudon County . She received her B.S. in Early Childhood Education in 2010 from Shorter University. She also has had experience working as a private in-home ABA Therapist. Ravan always had a passion for working with children of all ages and loves that she gets to do this every day!She is originally from Georgia and moved to Knoxville in the fall of 2010.

 

Candice Coleman,B.S.,SLPA       Team Leader

Candice began working with SPSET January 2004 and currently serves as an SLPA and Team Leader in Sevier County. Candice received her B.S. Degree from Cumberland College in 2002. It was there she began her first experiences working with children in a Social Work Setting. In 2014 Candice received a BS in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education.

 

Brittney Bailey Dunn, B.A., SLPA
Team Leader

Brittney joined SPSET in August of 2012 started as an SLPA in Sevier County and became the Team Leader in Alcoa January 2013.She graduated from University of Tennessee in 2006 with a B.A. in Audiology and Speech Pathology. She has worked as an SLPA since 2007 in the school system and private practice settings.

Team Leader

Dacia came to SPSET August of 2008 shortly after her college graduation and currently serves as an SLPA and Team Leader in Loudon County. Dacia received her B.A. degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2008.

Amanda Tolbert, B.A., SLPA 
Team Leader

Amanda began working with SPSET October 2016 and currently serves as a Team Leaderin Sevier County.She received her B.S. Degree from East Tennessee State University in Public Health Administration with a minor Communication Disorders.

Amanda's favorite part of therapy is seeing the confidence in the patient's once they have reached their goals.  She wants to be a positive influence to the children whose lives she touches.

Ariel Leach, B.S., SLPA 

Ariel started with SPSET  January 2016 and serves on a team in Sevier County.  Ariel graduated from UT Knoxville.  She has management experience and enjoys the time she spent as a Special Education Assistant at Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Academy. Her hometown is Kingsport, TN but she lived in Vermont during her Middle and High School years. 

 

Carrie Parker, B.A., SLPA
Team Leader

Carrie joined SPSET in November of 2007 and currently serves as an SLPA and Team Leader in Blount County. She graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a B.A. in Speech-Language Pathology and a M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling.

Carrie has over 10 years of work experience with adults and children with various disabilities in several different settings. She especially loves to work with children and enjoys seeing them achieve their goals.

Catherine Shelton, B.A., SLPA 
Team Leader

Catherine began working with SPSET August 2015 and currently serves as an SLPA and Team Leader in Sevier County.

She received her B.A. Degree May 2009 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in Speech Pathology. Before coming to SPSET Catherine worked as a preschool teacher in Farragut.  She grew up in Rock Hill, SC

Kendra White, B.A., SLPA 

Kendra began working with SPSET August 2016 and currently serves as an SLPA in Blount County and Alcoa City School Systems.  She received her B.S. Degree from the University Tennessee Knoxville in Communication Disorders.

Kendra enjoys using her creative side to assist children in reaching their goals.

 

Maureen Wise, B.S., SLPA
Team Leader  

Maureen has been with SPSET since August 2003 and serves as an SLPA and Team Leader in Blount County.  Maureen received her B.S. degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Iowa in 1989. After taking time for marriage and raising a family, Maureen signed on as a Substitute Teacher for School District 145 in Oak Forest, Illinois. There she had the opportunity to substitute in Special Education rooms, including contracting for the maternity leave of an LD teacher which included joint-teaching Reading to special needs students.
